We lost our little Peek-a-Boo tonight. He came to us in April with his parents, he was only about a year and a half old. We soon found out he had a blockage, they thought in his colon. He has been on meds ever since, but nothing seemed to help. He was eating, drinking, playing and acting normal yesterday. This afternoon before getting ready for work I had a need to check on him and very glad I did. He was in a toy at the bottom of the cage by himself, cold and lethargic. We wasted no time at all, and headed straight to the vet. She gave fluids and tried to get some nutracal into him for sugar. He was starting to perk up a little, so we were sent home with more sub-q fluids. At least he was at home and wasn't alone when he went, my husband was holding him. We are having a necropsy done tomorrow to see what exactly the blockage was and what else was wrong. He came to us from a shelter that knew they shouldn't be there. Even though we only had him 7 mo he defineately made a big impact on us. And at least we know he was well loved and cared for since coming to us. Sorry if this is disjoined and doesn't make much sense, hard to see through the tears. You will be miss my little Peeka

Karen, I am so sorry for your loss of little Peek-a-Boo. You are right, he knew he was loved up until the very end. I can think of no better way to go then to be held in someone's loving hands. May your heart heal quickly with the passing of time.

Karen, I'm very sorry that little Peeka is gone to the Rainbow Bridge now You have the right frame of mind though - he was very blessed to have you for the past 7 months of his life and was able to die with love and care Please let us know the necropsy results once you have them. Please make a separate post with the results in Health & Hygiene, then click the "notify" button so we can know to lock it so that people reply to this thread instead of that one. Again, I'm so very sorry for your loss
