For those of you who think the Gengi Tent is TOO BIG - I have a work-around for you. I love the tent even thought it takes half of my open floor space in my bedroom. When my 4 babies and I are playing they love to run everywhere but also spend time in the far corners. After cleaning the tent yesterday (wisk broom & little dust pan) it occured to me that I could reduce the footprint of the tent! First I pulled the floor on each side out about 4 inches. Then I rolled that up and used plain old office binder clips to attach the roll to the bottom of the tent frame. I also pulled in the slack at the corners and put a clip about 6 inches up on the frame above the curve to eliminate any hiding pockets in the corners. The result was the same wonderful Gengi tent but about 16 inches narrower - almost a square floor. A little more could be taken up if necessary for your space. I also think bringing in the sides makes the highest point about 6 inches higher. My fur kids seemed to love the extra space at the top and did not mind the reduced size at all. This also made the fleece throw that I use on the floor of the tent actually FIT - so there is no crackly floor on each end of the tent which they were not fond of anyway. Hope this helps other folks. Enjoy! Candy

I'm impressed! Thanks for the idea, I'm sure there will be many others who have a Genji will appreciate seeing the alteration.

Where were you??
I just bought a second, smaller tent for using with my rescues, because the Genji is too big for use with them! I don't like them to be able to hide from me.

this was one of those light bulb ideas - I wish I had thought of it sooner too. The kids seemed to love the new size as well!
I especially like that it actually lifts the height about 6 inches making it a better place to jump from. I have a small corner triangle I am going to clip up there tonight so they have a better jumping off pad. They tend to scurry up the seams and just drop on me rather than trying to glide. I did get 4 face hugs last night by one of my little dive bombers!
PS - the daily click for the Rescue Site in your Sig needs to be a BIG BUTTON on the header so everyone would be reminded to be counted daily!

Thanks for sharing this! I've got to try it. I ended up getting yet another tent cause the Genji was taking up a lot of space.

PS - the daily click for the Rescue Site in your Sig needs to be a BIG BUTTON on the header so everyone would be reminded to be counted daily! Candy Thanks for that. I was asked to remove it. I do understand why. But, I wish I had other ways to promote it! I've added it to my signature on my emails, too! The Rescue site is down on clicks this year. With the shelters being swamped with incoming animals due to the economy, and then clicks being down as well, they are really getting pinched. Please PM me for the link if you need it! Then ... click EVERY DAY!!

Wow, Candy, this is GREAT! Most of the best ideas are "light bult ideas" or "no brainers"... and so many people don't do it! Bravo! Alden and suggarblossoms... do you still have the box to your new tent?? Love those returns! LOL More money for Xmas or Hanukkah presents!
