I love my gliders to death, but they're driving me crazy! They don't seem to like any free moving toy. They refuse to go on ropes or chains if they wiggle even a little bit. They won't climb upwards in a braided vine, nothing. They won't even play or touch rings and bells and balls. They only like secure branches. That's it. Oh, and their wheels. I bought multiple ones because I felt bad because they had no real toys. Any suggestions for picky gliders? It makes tent time especially difficult.

P.S. I can sew, so that's not a problem if a toy requires any

Maybe try a suggie gym or two from Kathy??

My gliders are picky as well ... sometimes they will play all night and every monkey/braclet/hanging toy will be on the bottom of the cage ... other times ... nothing at all!!

Do you have a ball pit for them?? Maybe they would play around in that??

Will they not touch skinny free-motion toys, or even the fat ones with LOTS of room to hang onto?

How long have you had them? My boys would not use ANYTHING i put in to their cage when i first got them, but after 2 or 3 wks, i noticed that they were both WHEEL FIENDS! Now every night around 1:15am, i can hear their wheels going at full speed, but if I even attempt to catch them in the act, they jump off and hide like I'm the paprazzi! smile Now if i stay in there a moment or so they are back to workin' that wheel!

Foraging toys where you can hide treats in them will help stimulate them to playing with them.

Xglider (John) makes some awesome foraging toys. You can put mealies or yogies (or whatever) in them and the gliders can't seem to resist. Food is a great motivator.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

With the gyms, all they do is jump on them and completely ignore the toys. It doesn't matter the size or thickness of the toy, if it moves even a little, they bail. I have one foraging toy that they do use (but it's secured to the wall. they ignored it otherwise).

The only thing they'll go on that's suspended is their fresh eucalyptus branches, but that's only when they're fresh. lol. As soon as they're done chewing and pulling off the leaves, they're done.

I've had them for two and a half years and they've both been the same since they were joeys. TT___TT They have a mound of toys they won't use.
