I can't find the post, but I remember someone talking about these. I found a good source, if anyone's interested.

LLLReptile carries them, and alice33 has used the large one.

I can't remember how it opens but I do remember she was pleased using it when traveling. You might shoot her an e-mail to get more details or ask her to post in this thread.

So this would be used for travel purposes?

That is what Alice used hers for. I honestly do not know how they would do as permanent for gliders, although the thought is running around in my head they would be great to hang from the ceiling dunno

The largest one is 24 X 36 which, IMO, should not house more than a pair.

Let me e-mail Alice and ask her for her input here.

Yeah I don't know that I would want one as a permanent glider 'cage'. I was just curious as to what everyone was going to use theirs for or what others have used theirs for.

I do know that even as a travel cage, they can be a challenge to hang. I honestly don't know if they are sturdy enough to actually "sit" by themselves, but I don't believe so.

I've sent Alice an e-mail so we may as well wait for the expert grin

GREETINGS GLIDERFOLK jump Yes, I'm still using these cages on the road and I do have a few pearls of wisdom to share dance

-you can only hang them above the room floor if you're not going to put anything substantial on the cage floor like food bowls and wheels.

-if you're staying in a home or hotel room you can usually hang it from the clothes closet rod if you carry zip ties (God bless 'em) with you. I've also occasionally hung them from sconces. The trick is to keep the cage floor on the ground but make the height tall enough so that the cage walls are taut enough for the gliders to climb. If you tend to worry about these things, buy an el cheapo garment rack, strip it down to the parts you need, and throw it in the car. You'll need the bottom crossbars to stabilize it, so you might want to also carry a heavy piece of cardboard to put under the cage so the food dishes and wheels don't wobble.

-Not all wheels will fit through the door. The wodent wheel works and a wheel that comes apart from its base usually fits.

-the weak points are the snaps that keep the cage folded up. The canvas tabs that connect the snaps to the cage fray easily, so need to be reinforced.

-to clean it, I just take it outside, hose it down and let it air dry. In a pinch, you can put in the tub and turn on the shower.

-Before each use, check the weird little velcro window on top and remove any lint that might weaken the bond.

-I consider this cage too small to be a full-time home, but that's just me. There's a loop in the ceiling and I hang a rope from it almost to the floor along with a large, triangle-shaped pouch (there's one with zippers and round openings on the sides that I like).

-These cages can be veeeery expensive (largest-$90 in Key West pet store), but I found them on ebay for $20-25.00

I think that's it. Karen-thanks for the 'shout'-it was good to hear from you. And aren't you proud that I resisted the temptation to say "pearls before razorbacks"?? wave
