I'm not being sarcastic - answer as many questions as you can - call USDA and tell them what you have filled in and what more do you have to do?? Does the paperwork say you need a vets visit - I believe USDA visits and I also think each state is different - There will be more people on here that know more than I do - that's for sure Sue owned by & mom to

The packet you got, will explain all the details, I have appointment to talk to my vet which is cost of appt , but, I want to make sure I have policies in place, and Care sheet, to see if she agrees with everything. The vet is supposed to come out to your facility, and annually is minimum. Can't wait. Where in Dallas are you? I am close to Dallas. Cathy

United States Dept. of Agriculture, should be the same for each state. I did get my packet recently, but there is sooo much that doesn't seem to apply to gliders! I'm at a standstill as to how to fill it out. I know you have to have a vet visit before the USDA inspector makes a visit though.

Cathy I work in Dallas, but I apply USDA license at my home, Wylie. I called two vets. in my area, but they don't do the home visit service. Do you or anyone have any vet that do that service?

Ummmm....I don't know if my vet does home visits...can I take the whole gang to him? Also since there is a thread on this. DO I have to apply if I have 4 females, but only 3 of them are breeders? The 4th is in with a neutered male?!

You have to find a vet to do home visits, you cannot take your gliders to them because they have to be able to see your set up, your gliders and how you do things at your facility or home. Since they only have to come out once a year, you may want to recheck with them or ask them if they know of any vets that will do a home check for the USDA. When an animal is sick, you will be bringing it to them, it is only the USDA home check that the vet needs to do once a year. Most vets charge a fee for home visit and then charge mileage as well.
