Since the majority of the pipes in my rep have shattered (insert some inappropriate swearing here...), I've decided to rebuild the frame. BUT, as i found out today, the shape of the connectors used in the rep don't exist in the plumbing world. which means I have 40 feet of PVC piping with NO WAY to attach them together. Has anyone else tried to rebuild their frame? I have no idea how to attach my pipes together! I can't use the original connectors that i got with the rep cause they are a funny size and don't fit with the piping I got from the store. WHAT DO I DO!??!? this is sooooooo frusterating!! I just want a rep that doesn't fall apart! is that too much to ask?!? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crying.gif" alt="" />
but seriously, what can I do? I have 40 ft of PVC piping (well, PVC-something. there's another letter on there. It's white and a little more flexible than regular PVC) that I have no idea what to do with. eeeeeeggggggggggr.pff.
regular wear and tear, i guess. mostly taking the screen on and off for washing. i hear it's pretty common. who makes those things anyway?! they must be pretty stupid! grrr.
I made mine out of PVC pipe, and found everything I needed at Lowes. I did have to buy an "adapter" to make the corners. I can take some photos if you like of the parts we used?

I rebuilt mine with pvc also and it is so strong. We used 3/4" pipe with the connectors. And it's really strong. If you want dimensions, let me know. I got the parts at Lowes and it cost about $30.

that info would be great to have on hand if you don't mind

Cyndie - so did you not put in the extra pipe across the middle? or do you have a smaller version? Mine is the 175 gallon, so I was looking for the 4 way with a corner connector. I found some 3 way, but they had to be ordered specially and they had the threading... maybe I should order some of those and see what I can do. I'm afraid it won't be quite as structurally sound with out the extra bar across the middle.
Diana - did you use the connectors that it came originally with the rep, and replace the piping with new 3/4" stuff? or buy new connectors? (I already have all the 1/2" that I bought yesterday...i was hoping to use that, but maybe i won't be able to...)
and.. Jennifer - what is the 'adapter' you mentioned? I'm a little lost there...
thanks everyone!
