My gliders are on hpw and will only eat thier fruits and veggies if they are blended in with the hpw to the consistency of baby food...
So i thought what if i just pre-make a few batches and freeze it?
I give them variety by changing that fruit and/or vegetable combos.
Here is what i do:
Measure out two days worth of fruits, vegetables, and hpw for two gliders.
Blend the mix in my food processor until it is the texture they like it, mine prefer it baby-food like texture.
Pour it in a freezer-safe container and freeze.
I have four containers all with numbers (1-4) on them.
Every number has different fruit and vegetables combos in them. All in the same pre-measured porportions.
I used numbers instead of labels because they obviously don't eat the same four fruit and veggie mixes every week.
I write down on a piece of paper what number has what in it.
The next week i give them a different four and keep track of them the same way.

All you got to do is cut out a fourth of the container per glider(for two gliders) per day, and let it unthaw, mine love it and it saves so much time.
This is also great for teens who's parents aren't compltetely glider-knowledgeable, if your ever out and need them to feed your babies they've got it way easy.

I know some people think it's not fair to not give your gliders fruits and veggies in chunks but mine simply refuse to eat them that way.

This works out great for me and hopefully it will help someone else out!

If anyone wants this in more detail feel free to p.m. me!

Thanks for the tip. There are picky gliders out there, and this may be just the solution for some of them. wink

I do kind of the same thing. I have two veggie relishes and three fruit cocktail mixes. Each night I defrost their fruits and veggies and mix the HPW in. My gliders seem to love it this way and eat it all up!

Do you still prepare a whole batch of HPW then scoop from it mix and then refreeze? How do you know for sure that your mixes contain what is needed each night and not end up as to much of this one night and that another like when it settles?

I make the fruit smoothie and veggie relish. Mine will eat Veggie alone but I have to thaw the fruit smoothie and mix with HPW and have no problems. I am able to tell everything equally because it isn't froze together. Maybe I am confused by your way.

I prepare a batch, measure out what two of them need for two nights, and put it in the mix.

I almost do the same thing. I mix up different fruit and veggie mixes so that they have something different but good C-P Rates.

I blend a little and I chop up up my stuff to the size my little ones like and then freeze in cubes.

With the veggies I put it in the cubes then pour the HPW over it and freeze.

I also throw in nights where they get fresh food not just frozen all the time.

My gliders get different meals each night and love it. smile

I love your idea of mixing everything together and freezing it!!! I always worry when I need someone else to feed my babies. It hasn't happened that often but I was afraid they'd get the amounts mixed up. I LOVE the number system! I'm going to make a bunch of numbered batches today!

What a great post. I recently place my twin boys on the HPW and recently noticed that they eat some of the veggies and fruits but not like before they were put on this diet. I thought of doing the mixture so now I will takes eveyone....

I will be trying your idea. My gliders will not touch their fruits, and veggies. I tried so many different ones, but they will only eat the HPW. I tried blending, and smoothies and they still wont eat it. I guess we have to find a trick to get them to eat it, and this sounds like a great idea wink

That's a great idea! I made a whole batch of HPW and it's in the freezer. How would I do that with pre-made frozen HPW and then refreezing it?

I freeze mine but they will not eat relishes of any sort. THey all have to have theirs all separate from each other. fruits, veggies, HPW. Neat concept though!

just measure out the hpw amount your wanting in the tub depending on how many servings for how many gliders, for example i do two servings in a tub for two gliders, which is six table spoons of hpw, and let it unthaw, only takes a couple of mins.
i measure out all the individual tubs before i put each in the food processor then put them back in their tubs.

or if you work you could meausure out frozen proportions then put them in the frigde, they should be ready and unthawed for the food processor by the time you get home.
