Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I'm trying to get ready for bringing my sugar babies home at the end of the month. Any benefits to using a water bottle over a dish?

Thanks!

Mine like water bottles better.
Water dishes can become messy.
I have a water dish and a water bottle in each cage so they will have a choice.
Sometimes mine accidentally knock over the water bowl.
I would go for either both or a water bottle.

I love my Speedy, Roxy, Chance,Isabella and Gabriella:)

If the gliders are new to you .. then i would recomend that you start out with Both a bottle and a dish .. so that you have all you bases covered .. some gliders like one over the other ... and i would also say .. ask the breader/ person you are getting the gliders from as to what they use ... then you will know what the gliders are used to ... smile

I am an avid fan of the water silo also. They drink from it like a dish, but since the "dish" area is so small they dont foul it up. There are no parts that can fail or get stuck like in a water bottle with a ball. or the ball gets stuck and all the water leaks out. or drips on weird weather days from the pressure...and it is sooooo much easier to clean than a ball type water bottle. I also dont like the ball type bottles as I worry about silly things like them banging their teeth on the metal tube continuously and wearing down their teeth or getting their tongue stuck in it...you know...silly stuff like that.

Oh geez....! Now I've got to make another trip to PetSmart!!!

I will do without milk/bread/eggs, ect, but my gliders have to have the latest toys. They aren't spoiled or anything.

Thanks for posting that picture...now I'm gonna have to try it!

Cool! How much water does it hold?

I use a water bottle with mine. My crew are way too messy/dirty for a dish. wink

The silo works great.
I call it a water bottle LOL.
Its not messy and you dont really have to worry about the ball getting stuck because there is no ball.

I always used 2-3 water bottles for my gliders per cage. One hung near the top and one was either near the bottom or placed so there was a shelf or hammock underneath it. When my water bottles leaked I would keep a dish under them that was changed daily as well.

I use a water bottle and a water dish. I'm afraid they won't drink from the water bottle so they always have both, just in case.

I have both a water bottle and a water silo in my cages. I'm in the process of "weaning them" from the water bottle. I plan to give them a couple days (possibly a week or so) to get used to having the silo to drink from. Then, I will take the water bottles out. To me, it's just seems safer. I don't there is any way the silos can harm your gliders so it's an A+ in my book.
