Hey Everyone,
Zobie's cage was getting a little dull and I didn't find a cage set that I really liked and wanted to buy that was in the United States. So being I really like Do It Yourself projects, I went to Walmart and got some cute patterned fleece. I got a blue, grey, and white Chevron pattern, They had a ton of cool patterns there but I picked this one because he is a boy and red wasn't really his color, Lol. Anyway, Here is the finished product, It was no sew because I tied all the ends. I made 2 hammocks, a parachute, a new pouch, and a rope so it was 5 pieces all together.
Has anyone else done this and if so do your gliders like it? Zobie seems to be skeptical but I caught him checking out the parachute wink

They look good! I'm sure he'd investigate any new item added like that, that's how mine are.

I haven't made anything like those, I did make fleece braided vines, and I tried to make a square hammock once, but it was single layer, ended up not looking too great. I also had my sister help me early on with sewing some accessories, but I've since gotten my own machine, I have fleece I'd like to create some cute accessories with, but haven't attempted to really learn much about sewing as of yet. You did a good job!

I did want to point out that the wheel you have in there isn't recommended, those types can cause injury to gliders from what I've read.

I'm with Terry, you really need to save up and get him a different wheel. That wheel is even worse than a wodent wheel, it will cut their tail right off if he were to get it caught.

I highly suggest checking out the Raptor, Fast Track, Custom Cruiser or Stealth wheel.

Good to know about the wheel! I will definitely look into getting a different one, Also look into those other brands Feather mentioned. I love Zobie to death I wouldn't want him to get hurt. Thanks for the info smile

I am also interested in making a cozy for the bottom of his cage, It beats newspaper by a long shot. If you have any suggestions on if Fleece would work good or any other material that would be great smile

I look forward to seeing your cage cozy, I've never seen one before, not sure of what fabric, but I'd presume fleece should be fine, you could make it to match your nice cage set. Which btw is giving me the itch to make my own, but I really wanted to try my sewing machine, and too busy to make one before Christmas.

Awesome smile I will post it once I am finished with it. If I have enough fabric I can make it match. I was just looking at the wheels, Do you have a place/website you would recommend buying from?

Here are the links to the safe wheels:

Fast Track
and their newest Titan Wheel!
Stealth
Custom Cruiser
Raptor

My personal preference are Fast Track wheels.

Thank You smile That's good because that is the one I'm leaning towards. It looks a lot nicer than the one he has and I'm sure safer.

I love this! Just yesterday I made a yellow fleece braided rope with fringe (Loved it!) no sewing required! I'll be trying these out for myself!
