My two male gliders are Caramel and their breeder has their lineage. I planned on neutering so did not bother with any of that info.
Now, I am not so sure of my plan. They are super tame and low odor so is it really necessary to neuter? I am wondering since they are the only two I will have, do I need to neuter them?
I don't want to stress them out or risk health issues but not sure as both can cause issues. Thoughts?

Yes, it is necessary to neuter when owning two males that will be staying in the same habitat. It doesn't matter how tame or calm they are at the moment, there will always be a chance that they will fight for dominance due to their hormones. That is why they need to be neutered. You could believe they are fine and come home to a dead or severely injured glider. Its better to be safe than sorry! Although you make a point with risk issues, as long as you have a proper vet that you can trust your gliders with, everything should happen smoothly surgery wise!

It isn't necessary to neuter them, but once they are sexually mature they may fight and they will fight if you bring a female into the home.

What Feather said! Lol.
I was close though! I think I deserve some points for almost having the correct answer, haha.

LOL! Ok, so if I am reading this correctly, as long as I have no females in my home, not neutering is fine. Am I understanding correctly?

Correct! BUT (according to what Feather has typed here) when they do sexually mature they may occasionally fight. To what extent, I'm not sure!

So, is there a time when they are too old to neuter if it does become an issue? They are about 10 months OOP now and if that is an issue do they both have to be neutered? What is the cut off?

I don't believe there is a "deadline" for them. Mine is about 5-6 years old and I could have him neutered tomorrow if I wanted to.

Thank you, that makes me feel better. And do both or just one if aggression does become an issue-I am thinking I saw just one on here somewhere but not sure.

I can't tell you the right answer since I'm honestly not 100% sure myself and I don't want to tell you wrong. I personally though would neuter both of them. I feel like they might still scrap with each other if one still has his hormones. Like, the non-neutered would pick on the neutered for dominance still. Thats just my opinion though; ultimately it is your decision on what you would like to do! I just like being more on the safe side than sorry, lol.

If aggression becomes an issue both will need to be neutered.
