Hello!
I have read in various forums that dried lemon tree branches and wood are safe for sugar gliders, but I was wondering if a living tree /branches are equally safe for them.
Thanks in advance

I've checked several safe woods lists and didn't find any citrus trees listed.

Here is our list:

http://www.glidercentral.net/ubbthr...Safe_Woods_and_Plant_Toxicity#Post807750

Most fruit trees are sprayed with insecticides which is bad for any glider. If you live where they spray for mosquitoes, a definite no too.

I would think a citrus tree sap would have an irritant to it, but not sure

I hope this helps, but I didn't find an answer exactly...

The lemon tree is on my garden and we never used insecticides on it. The agrumes wood seems to be safe according to that list, i was just wandering if i have to wait for the branches to dry or if i could put them in the cage even when they are still green.
I'll just follow the rule "better safe than sorry" and wait for them to dry completely smile is there a way to make them dry fast? (maybe baking them?)
thanks for the answers smile

Yes, you can bake them. Scrub in hot soapy water first to ensure there aren't any eggs or bugs like aphids, etc. Bake low heat 225-275° for an hour after.
