Michelle has the babies, has given meds and is prepared to give them lots of wonderful food and loving tonight. The two have been separated, so there will be no more "helping" from the cage mate. They are already spoiled! Michelle is putting one of the two in a BRAND NEW cage for the night! How lucky!
vet appointment in Tulsa tomorrow afternoon. So, I will finally get to meet these two cuties then. I will be bringing some other gliders that need vet care and a beautiful birdie that I rescued earlier this month, so it will be a full day for me. 12 hours on the road plus a vet visit. I will try to update when I get home (if I am not too tired). Anyone in the Tulsa area is welcome to come keep me company. When I get to the vet, it is usually a 4 hour (or more) ordeal!

Val, you are truely an angel! Thanks for the update. Hopefully Brenda will be home soon safely.
Good luck to Michelle this evening. The one night I actually got them apart they barked all night long. They are a total joy and, other than talking all night, will be wonderful house guests.
Be safe tomorrow Val and Michelle. Is the vet apt with the vet you are so familiar with? Please let me know what the verdict is and what the plan of action is.
Thanks again to everyone involved and everyone that is keeping these babies & drivers in their thoughts.
Yes, the vet we are seeing is my vet - the same one that has so wonderfully treated Jackie Chan, Nugget, Bruce Lee, Naruto, Sassy, etc...
I will pass along the barking message to Michelle. I believe that she feels as I do that barking all night is a small price to pay for the healing that will come.
He is gonna be just fine in no time at all!

I want to tell you all that you have made me cry. Happy and proud tears. We just have the best members in the whole world here. God love and bless you all.

I am home! 12 hours and about 720 miles later! Whew! It was soooo worth it, though! These babies are unbelievably sweet and so cute! They let me pet their little heads each time I stopped to gas up/use the bathroom, etc...on the way down - I just had to check on 'em and give 'em a little lovins each time I stopped (funny thing, I stopped 3 times on the way down - gas, food, potty - and only once on the way back!) These little ones are TINY compared to my chunky monkeys! I am thrilled that Sammy will be with someone as experienced and loving as Val and that he'll get to see a vet with a lot of experience with these sort of issues!
Thank you all so much for the help and thoughts and prayers! Kelly, thank you for letting me help such a sweet couple.
This was my first railroad and I naively thought that once I passed them over to Michelle (Peace) that I wouldn't worry about them anymore since they were no longer my responsibility or in my care. I was wrong - I think I'll worry and care about them forever now! I called myself Auntie Brenda to them, hope you don't mind!
Lots and lots of and prayers for all!

Wow Brenda! So glad you were able to help. I wish I could have been there with you but had prior obligations. Glad you made it home ok and everyone made it to their destinations so far.
Sammy ate all of his food. Sammy is such a good boy he does not like his meds but still lets me give them to him. he is so sweet and has only crabed one time. He likes his new toys and having fun with them. he is a lover and just melts my heart.
Emma ate almost all of her food, she did not care for her green beans. she is a cutie pie and she too is a lover.
I set up their cages so they where only about 3 feet apart, that way they knew each other was their. there cage's where also faceing each other. i never did hear them call out to each other. they both loved or at least i think they enjoyed their new toys. but then again what kid doesn't like new toys? they both are very freindly and sooooo very cute. they tried to steal my heart. i have trully enjoyed getting to meet them.
i will be leaving here in about 2 hours to go to Tulsa to meet up at Val's vet. wish i could spend more time with them they are just so sweet and soooo very cute.

Awww, glad to hear they both had a good night. Yes, that is one heck of a wound (that is pretty much how Timmy's neck looked the other day). I'm so glad they will get to the vets and he can get this little boy on his way to being healed. It never ceases to amaze me the true love and unselfishness of the members here. My heart and prayers are with you all. Thank you for helping this little one! Val, let us know how it goes when you can. You got a long day ahead of you. Be safe. God bless.
I'm so glad everyone loves them as much as I do, although it shouldn't surprise me. The people here have the biggest hearts of anyone I've ever met.
Be safe on your drive, both of you. I am eager to hear what your vet says. When the vet tried to patch up Sammy last time the skin had to be stretched so far that his poor little arm was pulled up to his ear and his eyeball bulged out of its socket. Poor little guy.
BTW, they love meal worms. Sammy will eat his weight in meal worms at one sitting, lol.
You guys are awesome! I am so proud of everything that you did to help them out.
One piece of bad news for you Brenda.....you will never stop thinking about them. My first railroad was with Cricket and I still think about how she is doing today. There is something about that face.....you just can't seem to get them out of your mind, EVER!
Both you and Michelle did such a good thing. Helping out a suggie in need is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
A round of for each and every angel involved in this endeavor! It makes me SO PROUD how everyone came together SO QUICKLY for these 2 little ones....HUMONGOUS and continued prayers that Sammy heals QUICKLY.

the vet did not do stich's or staples. Sammy just need's to be seperate from Emma for awhile so it can heal. Dr. Walsh gave Sammy pain meds and anibiotic's to go home with and a new brand of healing cream. I do not remeber and could not even come close to spelling the names. But i know the cream is brand new to the market.
