I'm taking one of my gliders in tomorrow to be put under and possibly have a blood sample taken so we can finally figure out what's wrong with her. But what do I do with her when we get home? I mean, will the site be painful enough that she'll need an e-collar? Do I need to keep her separate from her sister to prevent overgrooming? Or will she not know it ever happened? Sorry if this is silly, but I'm a little nervous, and would like to have everything ready before we get home from the vet!

I've had blood drawn on gliders a few times. My vet and I try not to put gliders under unless absolutely necessary, that includes for blood draws. If your vet is comfortable with it, have them try this:

- Wrap the glider in a towel, blanket, etc., leaving only the tail exposed.

- Firmly hold on to the tail, and soak it with alcohol. There is a vein in the underside of the tail that should become visible.

Your vet should then be easily able to draw blood and not have to knock out the glider. There is minimal irritation and the glider goes along it's merry little way once everything is done smile

I have also heard where they can clip one of the nails a little short to cause it to bleed and get blood that way too.
I hope that everything goes well tomorrow and they can determine what's going on with your little one.
Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way. hug2

Those are good ideas! But I'm convinced (thanks to XFilefan) that it's a tooth problem, and I don't think they can examine her teeth closely enough with her awake. Hopefully there will be something easily fixable with her teeth and we can avoid the blood draw altogether. But good to know I don't have to separate them or anything just because of it. Thanks everyone!
