Ok if this is in the wrong thread Im sorry I did not know where to put it.
I was wondering will gliders act different when the barametric pressure drops all of a sudden? Like in the summer when its 80+ degrees and then when a storm hits? Cause today they were acting really funny. Like trying to escape their cages and no one has ever escaped. They were all up about 2 hrs [censored] out and then seattled down finally and a storm hit. HUM?!?!?! I was just wondering if that made them act funny.

Animals in general are more sensitive to barometric pressure. My parents dog always paces the floor before a storm, so we know its coming. People have noticed cats and birds doing this too. I wouldn't doubt they could tell.

We should all take notes and see if it is common for gliders to react to approaching storms.
I have no doubt that they do react, but it would be interesting to have folks report how their gliders react to storms and see if there is a pattern many gliders have in common.

We had storms today too. My gliders were grumpy most of the day and TicTic even bit me!

Im just wondering if the change could also mess with their ears which would make them grumpy? Or Im just thinking to much which Im good at.

I dont think it is to that extent. It takes a good amount of pressure change to mess with the inner ear. Its probably instinctual to find cover... I mean these guys are not supposed to get wet... Or like my parents dog they relate it to something bad (she was a rescue, found during a month filled with storms).

Dr. Cathy (Rachel and I use the same vet) says that the barometric pressure here messes them up big time. It is frustrating but at least we know it does affect them.
